Day 15 of Netflix October Halloween Calendar, and this time it was re-watching Fear Street Part One: 1994.
A circle of teenagers accidently come across the ancient evil that is responsible for a number of brutal murders that have infected their town, Shadyside, in over 300 years.
Whilst massacres start to build up in this town, the unholy name; Sarah Fier, who is a cursed witch from the town keeps popping up.
From watching this film, I feel I enjoyed it a little less than the first time I had watched this film. Although I enjoyed the nostalgia with the soundtrack – which took me back to old school music that I grew up listening to.
Although I never read the Fear Street books growing up, I was familiar with Goosebumps. I was highly optimistic with these film adaptations, and I did enjoy the film – just not as much as the first time I had watched it and I felt the slashing scenes were good to begin with but quickly became overkill.
If you enjoy R.L. Stine books, this will be a good watch but watch it with an open mind.
I rate this film 3 stars.
