A true crime writer finds a box of super 8 home movies within his new home which reveals that the murder case he is currently working and writing about could be the work of an unknown serial killer who has a legacy dating back to the 1960s.
Day nine of the Netflix October Halloween Calendar, and this film had my attention from the start. It included some of the creepiest moments I have seen in a movie since watching The Autopsy of Jane Doe (2016).
I did enjoy this film, however, there were scenes which were too similar to Insidious, the production and writing is great for this film, and is one of the very few horrors which had my attention for the duration with some senses of unease, and some creepy scenes too with the chilling tone set from the start.
Scott Derickson did a good job with this film and the casting was great. This is easily one of my favourite horror movies to exist, especially on Netflix.
I rate this film 5 stars
