The Possession of Hannah Grace (2018)

Written by: Brian Sieve

Directed by: Diederik Van Rooijen

Starring: Shay Mitchell, Gray Damon, Kirby Johnson, Nick Thune, Louis Herthum and many other cast members who are not main castings.

The start of the film shows an exorcism that quickly gets out of control and claims the life of a young girl named Hannah Grace. Moving forward three months, we see a young woman working a night shift at the hospital morgue, where she receives a disfigured corpse. When alone and locked in the basement of the morgue, the young woman, named Morgan Reed, experiences visions and weird goings on, leading her to believe that the body delivered earlier in the evening is possessed by an evil entity.

Megan (Shay Mitchell) struggles to get the equipment to work when completing the intake of Hannah’s body in Screen Gems’ THE POSSESSION OF HANNAH GRACE.

I must say that I did enjoy this film, and although I watched it through to the end, it is a somewhat good horror film; there were a few scenes that could have been omitted. The effects were not significant but were acceptable. I did, however, feel that this film had a lot in common with The Autopsy of Jane Doe, as many scenes seemed very similar.

As I said, I did enjoy this film, and it did grip me enough to finish watching, as it was eerie and creepy. However, I think the plot and certain scenes could have been significantly improved to make it a standalone film rather than a comparison to other paranormal-type films.

I rate this film 3 stars

Rating: 3 out of 5.
