A Disney film based on Disneyland’s Theme Park ride, a small riverboat that takes groups of travellers through a jungle filled with dangerous animals and reptiles, with a supernatural element added to the story.
After waiting since 2019 for the film’s release, I was thrilled to finally watch it on the day of its release (July 30, 2021). Since then, I have seen it a few more times and have purchased the premiere access on Disney+, where my brother said, and I quote, “I can see why you bought the premiere access to this film, it’s great, and has your favourite man Jack Whitehall in, too!”. Well, yes, and not to mention the fantastic work, and on-screen relationship he has with both Emily Blunt AND Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson!.

As you can probably speculate from the trailer, this film is filled with plenty of action, and danger, which include wild animals, violent and fast flowing rivers, and natives who, at first, are unwelcoming before they show they want to help with Lily’s (Emily Blunt) Journey across the amazon jungle to reach the Tree of Life.
The trouble they most struggle with, is a German man, who is clearly deranged in his submarine, named Prince Joachim, who is adamant to find the Tree of Life before Lily does and succeeds in resurrecting creepy, and cursed, conquistadors (where Edgar Ramirez is leader of this) to help to stop both Frank (Johnson) and Lily from completely their mission, he even abducts Lily’s younger brother, MacGregor (Jack Whitehall) in his attempts to stop them, too!
This is one of the biggest blockbuster Disney movies since the COVID-19 pandemic, so the visuals and CGI effects are plenty to enjoy. However, overall, this film is a great one to watch, and just by watching the movie, you can almost feel the fantastic chemistry between Blunt, Johnson, and Whitehall.

Jungle Cruise is almost impossible to dislike; it lives up to its smashing number 1 worldwide spot, and rightly so. It is a great movie to watch. If you haven’t watched it yet, head to your local cinema and book tickets to see it – what more could you want for two hours? With a whole lot of Dwayne Johnson, Emily Blunt, and Jack Whitehall, to name a few. Alternatively, it is available for an additional fee on Disney+ Premier Access!
I rate this film 5 STARS!
