Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour Live at Wembley, London 2024

Tour Locations: Wembley Stadium, London.

When: 21st June 2024.

The biggest, most anticipated show came to London in June 2024, where Taylor Swift brought her record-breaking Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour to London Wembley Stadium for the first three nights of a record-breaking 8 nights, which stretched into three nights in June 2024, and five nights in August 2024.

After the longest 12 months, from the moment I managed to obtain two tickets via pre-sale, it was finally my turn to experience what it is like to be at Wembley Stadium AND see Taylor Swift live – in front of my eyes – live! Did it live up to the hype and anticipation? YES, IT DID.

Whilst this website focuses on movie reviews, I feel it’s time to post a review on this event, as I’ve been in a complete daze for a year, and it certainly doesn’t feel like a year has passed already. How time flies!

When there is a show as big as The Eras Tour, it does feel like this review belongs on this website alongside my reviews of movies and occasional TV Shows.

As Taylor Swift’s popularity has dramatically increased over the years, this tour was the biggest of her career, and I feel very privileged to be able to say “I saw Taylor Swift The Eras Tour live, I survived the Great War getting tickets and attending the event, especially as I have never experienced a music event quite like this one – seeing hard-core fans dressed up to their favourite Eras; Midnights, Tortured Poets Department, Lover, Evermore, Fearless, Red, reputation, 1989 – to name a few of which I saw different Era’s floating around outside Wembley when we were all waiting.

I also saw a few people wearing 1975 t-shirts, which was amusing to see.

The idea behind this tour was to celebrate Taylor’s career, where there were dedicated sections to every album of hers. The European leg of the tour featured a revised setlist due to the newly released album, The Tortured Poets Department.

The majority of live music concerts I have attended last for two hours, Taylor Swift broke this expectation and performed for three and a half hours, giving the audience the experience they paid for.

I have been lucky enough to attend many concerts over the years, but I have never been to one like this, to this level and expectation. It was one of the best concerts I have ever been to, and to experience Wembley for the first time exceeded my expectations by a lot.

I would be lying if I said I had a favourite highlight from the show, because every era was amazing to see; however, Reputation, and Tortured Poets Department was my favourite to see live. On top of this, I did see Travis walk past at one point during 1989 era, and I saw Prince William with his eldest two children dancing – this was later highlighted in the news on the days following, and on social media.

Stadium concerts are amazing, and I am so pleased to have had the opportunity to experience Wembley Stadium for the first time by seeing Taylor Swift live. For some musical artists, stadiums can feel too big, whilst others can be unsuccessful with the use of the space they have available – this is not an issue for Taylor Swift as she succeeded in all her performances on 21st June 2024, and she wowed over 90,000 fans in the stadium.

The main stage was used for some larger props for an office and a cabin, whilst the middle of the pitch took her to new heights, literally, where there were plenty of surprises being shown throughout the evening, which were hidden away within the stages.

The Era’s Tour was amazing, and I will never forget my experience of this particular time. All the songs were amazing, the performances were visually thrilling, and Taylor’s outfit changes were phenomenal as they represented each era.

I am gutted I was not lucky enough to have seen certain songs performed live, but I am glad I had the opportunity to witness performances from all era’s including her newest Era; The Tortured Poets Department.

Let’s hope she releases a new Era’s Tour 2.0 film, so fans across the world can experience the best of both Era’s tour before Tortured Poets Department and Era’s Tour after Tortured Poets Department.

The only negative I will mention is that the support acts were not great. I had held out hope that Paramore would be good, but they were disappointing. My partner has been a fan of Paramore for years and mentioned he was bitterly disappointed, and said he enjoyed Taylor more.

Taylor Swift played a total of eight nights at Wembley Stadium, spread across June and August;

21st, 22nd, 23rd June 2024.

15th, 16th, 17th, 19th, and 20th August 2024.

Each of these nights Taylor pulled out all the stops to ensure she surprised her fans every single night of the tour, by performing surprise songs, and bringing guests on stage. During her August show on 15th August 2024, she had Ed Sheeran join her on stage to perform a medley of their collaborations together including “Everything has changed” and “End Game”.

This tour overall was the best show I have ever attended, and despite enjoying live music performances from other artists since this time, nothing, unfortunately, beats seeing Taylor Swift live and I would do it all again in a heartbeat if the opportunity presented itself again.
