The Curse of Bridge Hollow (2022)

Written by: Todd Berger, Robert Rugan, and John R. Morey

Directed by: Jeff Wadlow

Starring: Marlon Waynes, Priah Ferguson, Kelly Rowland, John Michael Higgins, Lauren Lapkus, Rob Riggle and many other cast members who are not main casting.

Day 14 of the Netflix October Horror Calendar, and I have to say this was a great, and funny, film to watch. If you love Halloween comedy horrors – this is one for you.

It stars Marlon Waynes – straight away I knew this film would be funny, as Marlon is a funny guy in other films/TV shows I have seen him in, and also knowing Priah Ferguson would be in this film, it was a no brainer for me to watch it. I love watching her in Stranger Things as Erica.

The story of the film revolves around a father (Marlon Waynes) and his daughter (Priah Ferguson) where they have no choice but to team up to save their town after discovering an ancient, troublesome, spirit causes Halloween decorations to come to life and causes destruction within the town they live in.

From watching this film, I was left in tears of laughter at how wholesome, silly, and relaxed the film and story was. The effects were good and is definitely a film for all the family – I can guarantee kids will love it as it’s more of a silly Halloween comedy for everyone who loves a laugh will enjoy.

I am one for silly, goofy, films and this film is on the same level as Hubie Halloween in relation to how much I enjoy silly films like this – and as much as I enjoy horror films – I also appreciate films such as this for a more relaxed, funny evening in watching films like these.

I agree with the casting of this film, and the story is good for both kids and adults to enjoy. The CG in the film is great for the level of entertainment in the film, and there definitely was never a dull moment throughout watching this and I loved some of the silly fighting scenes that occurred with the skeleton and the spider scenes – very funny.

There is a scene with arachnophobia so beware of this, but it doesn’t linger, so if you are scared of spiders – maybe cover your eyes for a few minutes but this is even a funny scene to watch.

I highly recommend watching. I really enjoyed it. If you love watching Marlon Wayans (maybe from White Chicks, or Haunted Mansion) then you will enjoy this film with him in it. The same goes for Priah Ferguson – if you love her in Stranger Things, watching her in this film is just as good.

I rate this film 5 stars

Rating: 5 out of 5.
